MacPaw Partners with Liquid AI for On-Device AI Inference

MacPaw is collaborating with Liquid AI to integrate on-device AI inference technology into its software offerings. The initial focus of this partnership is the integration of these AI models into MacPaw's AI assistant, Eney. This on-device approach means that AI models will run directly on the user's hardware, rather than relying on cloud servers, which can offer benefits in terms of privacy and processing speed.

Beyond its own products, MacPaw plans to make this on-device AI capability available to third-party developers through its SetApp subscription service. A credit-based pricing model is being developed for this offering. This move positions MacPaw to become a platform for on-device AI solutions for developers.

In a separate but related development in the AI infrastructure space, Cloudflare has launched programmable wallets specifically designed for AI agents. These wallets are intended to simplify transactions for AI agents, enabling them to make payments using stablecoins. The primary use cases include purchasing API access and digital content. Cloudflare also intends to integrate these wallets with its Monetization Gateway, which is designed to support micropayments, further streamlining the economic interactions of AI agents.

Cloudflare's initiative aims to create a more seamless and secure payment infrastructure for the burgeoning ecosystem of AI agents, allowing them to engage in commerce more autonomously.
