Vodafone is expanding into the legal technology sector by partnering with AI startup Aavalynx to co-develop an AI-driven litigation platform. This joint venture aims to provide enterprise legal and business leaders with a real-time, unified view of their disputes portfolio, transforming litigation from an unmanaged cost into a proactively managed financial risk asset.
Aavalynx, founded in 2023 by experienced disputes lawyer Hanna Roos, announced on Tuesday that it had secured £1.5 million in pre-seed funding for its platform. Roos, who has over two decades of experience in high-stakes legal disputes across various industries, stated that Vodafone played a crucial role as a co-development partner, contributing vision for innovative product features tailored for in-house dispute teams.
The legal tech market is currently dominated by established players such as Harvey and Legora, with other startups like Clio also competing. While current AI tools in the market largely focus on improving lawyer efficiency, Roos emphasized that Aavalynx's goal is to create tools that go beyond efficiency, aiming to make disputes disappear through superior functionality.
