UBTech Robotics Corp. Ltd. has launched a new line of highly realistic bionic humanoid robots, marking an ambitious push into the consumer-companion market. The models are priced as high as 990,000 yuan ($146,491).
The Hong Kong-listed company is seeking to build a "second growth curve" beyond its core industrial and commercial service-robot business by moving into consumer niches. This includes targeting the large market for women-oriented romance-simulation games.
The U1 Pro, which is restricted to adult buyers, stands 183 centimeters tall in its male version and 169 centimeters in its female version.
