Starlink, the satellite internet service from Elon Musk's SpaceX, has commenced accepting orders in Vietnam, as indicated on its local website. Customers can now place deposits for a residential service plan, which is priced at 1.13 million dong ($43) per month, in addition to hardware expenses amounting to 8.66 million dong. For corporate clients, the minimum monthly subscription is set at 1.48 million dong.
With this launch, Vietnam becomes the sixth market in Southeast Asia to have access to Starlink services, following Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and East Timor. The Vietnamese government announced in March 2025 its approval for SpaceX to operate Starlink on a trial basis, including waiving foreign ownership limits. During this trial period, which extends through the end of 2030, the number of subscribers will be capped at 600,000.
The service is managed by SpaceX's Vietnamese subsidiary, Starlink Services Vietnam, which was established in September 2025 with an initial capital of 30 billion dong ($1.1 million). The Vietnamese government has also authorized the establishment of four Starlink ground gateway stations within the country.
