Samsung S90F TV review: 2025 OLED still a top pick for performance and value

The Samsung S90F OLED TV, released over a year ago, continues to be recommended as an excellent choice for most viewers due to its strong performance and value proposition. The 2025 model offers a vibrant, high-contrast picture that rivals or surpasses competitors in its price bracket, featuring impressive out-of-the-box color accuracy and deep, inky black levels ideal for various lighting conditions.

While a newer 2026 model, the S90H, is available and may be preferable for those concerned about reflections, the S90F provides very similar performance at a lower cost. This makes it a standout option among Samsung's offerings and a top-tier display overall.

The S90F is offered in six screen sizes: 42, 48, 55, 65, 77, and 83 inches. Notably, only the 55-, 65-, and 77-inch variants are equipped with QD-OLED panels, which enhance color volume compared to standard OLED panels. The reviewed 65-inch model, along with the 55- and 77-inch versions, are expected to deliver advanced color performance.

All sizes feature a sleek, ultra-thin frame, significantly slimmer than many Mini LED TVs, as OLED panels do not require a backlight. The TV's thickest point is only 1.6 inches, housing its electronics. Connectivity includes four HDMI 2.1 ports that support up to 4K/144Hz signals, provided the 'Input Signal Plus' setting is enabled for full bandwidth capabilities.

The included compact SolarCell remote, featuring Alexa and Bixby voice control, is powered by a solar panel and includes a USB-C backup charging port. Its design allows for easy thumb access to functions, though the small buttons might be challenging for users with larger hands.
