The system helps address challenges with an aging workforce by preserving the know-how of long-term employees while mitigating the physical demands of their jobs.
Chi Amaechi, a Nissan process engineer, explained that the AI monitors body angles against a 'golden cycle' standard for each job, identifying when an employee bends too far or holds an unsafe position. This proactive monitoring replaces less consistent manual observations. The technology has reportedly contributed to approximately $34 million in safety and health-related savings at the Canton plant.
