KKR has launched Helix Digital Infrastructure, a new company with over $10 billion in committed capital aimed at building out AI infrastructure. The venture is supported by anchor investors including the Kuwait Investment Authority, AI chip giant Nvidia, and utility firm Vistra.
Adam Selipsky, former CEO of Amazon Web Services, will lead Helix Digital Infrastructure. The company's formation addresses the increasing demand for AI services and the challenges in constructing data centers, which have been strained by power supply limitations and component shortages.
Nvidia will contribute its expertise in designing AI data centers, while Vistra will serve as the preferred power provider. KKR noted that Helix can attract additional institutional investors once founding commitments are finalized. KKR's infrastructure platform currently manages over $100 billion in assets.
