Amazon AWS executive Dave Brown departs after 19 years

Amazon veteran Dave Brown, a senior vice president at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a member of the internal group advising CEO Andy Jassy, is leaving the company after 19 years. Brown, who most recently led compute and machine learning services, is departing for another job, according to an AWS memo.

Dave Treadwell, currently the senior vice president of ecommerce foundation, will replace Brown starting August 1. Like Brown, Treadwell is a member of the S-team, Amazon's senior leadership team that directly advises Jassy.

Brown's departure marks the end of a significant tenure at Amazon, where he was a key figure in leading critical technology services. Treadwell's background includes extensive operational oversight at scale for Amazon's e-commerce platform, which is expected to be valuable in his new role overseeing AWS Compute and ML Services.
