Stellantis is initiating a global recall for over 1.3 million Jeep Wrangler SUVs and Jeep Gladiator trucks from model years 2021-2025 due to an electrical connection issue in the power steering pump wiring. This defect can cause combustible materials to overheat, potentially leading to a vehicle fire, even when the vehicle is parked and the ignition is off. The automaker is urging owners to park affected vehicles outside and away from structures or other vehicles until the repair is completed. The recall includes approximately 1.08 million vehicles in the United States, 106,000 in Canada, 23,000 in Mexico, and about 125,000 in other international markets. Stellantis has received reports of at least 72 fires possibly tied to the issue and one injury.
