Stellantis is initiating a global recall for over 1.3 million Jeep Wrangler SUVs and Jeep Gladiator trucks from model years 2021-2025. The recall is due to an electrical connection issue within the electric hydraulic power steering pump wiring. In rare instances, this issue could cause combustible materials to overheat, potentially leading to a vehicle fire. The automaker is advising owners to park affected vehicles away from structures or other vehicles until the repair is completed. The recall encompasses approximately 1.08 million vehicles in the United States, 106,000 in Canada, 23,000 in Mexico, and about 125,000 in other international markets. Stellantis anticipates having a fix available by July and has received reports of one potential injury, but no crashes or fatalities related to the issue. Separately, Stellantis is recalling another 17,277 U.S. vehicles over a battery pack defect that could lead to fire.
